I am a material girl who enjoys various designer goods, but there is one fashion designer in particular who has always stood out in my mind. I tend to live by the quote “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous”. Who else would dare to make such an audacious quote besides my favorite designer, Gabrielle also known as “Coco” Chanel.

Born in an orphanage Chanel was self taught and may be one of the most important designers of the twentieth century. I tend to fall in love with all of her chic yet classy designs. Although many of her handbags, clothes and jewelry are black somehow each piece looks different and unique. Since purses are my weakness I love to look at Chanel bags for hours. She was known for inventing the little black dress and I don’t know where I would be if I didn't own the black dresses I wear on a regular basis. Although Chanel is no longer living her designs still live on.

Young adults to middle aged women are the main target of the designer. Since Chanel's designs are expensive, usually wealthy, high class people tend to shop this designers line. My personal favorite item Chanel produces are the sparkly stud earrings that make the Chanel symbol. The purses with the symbol also became very popular in 2006 to 2007. These are just some of the reasons why Chanel is my favorite designer. Without her elegance and lace the fashion world would not be what it is today.
